Windpark Growind, near the Eemshaven in the north of the Netherlands, operates 4.5 MW L-136 wind turbines from turbine builder Lagerwey. The platform of this turbine differentiates itself from its competition in that it can be placed in high-wind coastal locations and also in forested locations, where large differences may arise between the wind supply at the maximum and minimum tip height. Another impressive feature of the L-136, which significantly reduces construction costs, is its revolutionary climbing crane, which will be used to build the second turbine at the Growind site. The modular tower is constructed by moving up the crane with every new section of the tower to its ultimate height of 132 meters.
