Koos Biesmeijer, Verian Klarus, Luc Hoogenstein, Pjotr Tjallema, Hanneke van de Vijfeijke and Marieke Vellinga-Beemsterboer shared their perspectives from the worlds of science, business, politics and finance. Together, they discussed what is needed to ensure that construction, development and nature restoration go hand in hand more effectively.
Marjolein Landheer, Chief Risk Officer at Triodos Bank, summarised a key point from the discussion: “It’s not just about a willingness to collaborate, but also a willingness to look beyond one’s own interests and the short term.” It thus became clear that a net gain for nature requires not only good ideas, but also choices made in day-to-day practice.
We developed the programme in collaboration with Pakhuis de Zwijger. We regularly organise such evenings on topics that call for discussion, different perspectives and new initiatives. We will announce future events here.
