Data Privacy Expert (32 - 40 hours per week)
you will be pivotal in further building the privacy function, raising privacy awareness across Triodos Bank Group, and functionally steering the Central Privacy Office team, consisting of two other dedicated experts.
You will address questions such as, “How can we ensure personal data is handled with the highest standards of privacy and protection across the organization, recognizing data protection as a corporate social responsibility?” and “What frameworks and controls are needed to maintain compliance with privacy regulations and foster a culture of privacy awareness and accountability at every level of the organization?”

How you will make a difference
Take action
- Develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies, standards, and best practices in line with applicable privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR)
- Functionally help build and mature the Central Privacy Office team further
- Collaborate with our business, Digital & Technology department, Legal & Compliance, and risk management stakeholders to embed privacy in all processes and projects
- Lead and coordinate privacy awareness initiatives group-wide, ensuring all employees understand their privacy responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on privacy risks, DPIAs, and privacy by design principles
- Monitor and enhance the organization’s privacy maturity and data protection controls while focusing on compliance with internal privacy policies and external regulations. Amongst other through facilitating privacy governance committees and working groups, driving adoption and awareness
- Oversee and monitor privacy incident response processes, ensuring timely escalation and resolution

Profile
This is you
While overseeing the implementation of a new privacy awareness campaign, a co-worker asks for your guidance on a complex DPIA. You seamlessly move from strategic privacy discussions to hands-on issue resolution, thriving in a fast-paced environment without losing sight of the details. You understand that privacy is a shared responsibility and work closely with Data Governance, Legal & Compliance, Digital & Technology, and business Owners. Thanks to your structured approach, assertiveness and clear communication, you help the organization navigate complex privacy challenges. Your profile includes:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (work / thinking level)
- Socially responsible; you share our mission to create and realize positive impact
- Affinity with privacy management tools
- Pro-active, analytical, and communicative
- Around 5-10 years of experience in privacy, data protection, or a related field (e.g., Privacy Officer, Data Protection Specialist)
- In-depth knowledge of privacy frameworks, data protection principles, and regulatory compliance (GDPR and related)
- Experience implementing privacy related initiatives
- Experience in the financial and/or regulatory sector
- Able to help steer and further develop the Central Privacy Office and drive the organization’s privacy maturity growth
