Policy Specialist

Triodos Bank prepares its financial statements in accordance with IFRS. You will be the specialist who interprets relevant external reporting developments, update and writes our accounting policies and manual. You also create ad hoc accounting policies for new or complex transactions. Together with the Regulatory Reporting Policy Specialist, you are the secretary to the Reporting Policy Committee which directly reports to the Executive Board.

You will work in the international Finance team, supporting the quality of the financial reporting of Triodos Bank, while helping to grow the overall maturity of the CFO function. You will help us to ''change finance to finance change'', by being on top of changing accounting policies and applying those policies to new transactions and business cases. You do so by:

  • As subject matter expert, you bring a good understanding of IFRS and enjoy interpreting and applying these standards for the bank. This includes keeping the accounting manual updated
  • Support the (half) year financial reporting processes
  • Write accounting policies and present these to the Reporting Policy Committee
  • Prepare and take minutes of the Reporting Policy Committee
  • Your capabilities in supporting decision making with sound technical considerations

Profile

This is you

You are an IFRS policy professional with IFRS knowledge on a wide range of accounting topics, including financial instrument accounting. You communicate easily, both verbally and in writing. You want to help the organisation comply with IFRS through sound reporting. At the same time, you look out-of-the-box for new ways to improve. You are able to work in an international organisation.This is complemented by:

  • A Register Accountant degree or Masters degree in accounting
  • 8+ years of work experience in the financial sector and/or big4 accounting firms, including relevant experience regarding IFRS reporting
  • Thinking systemically able to zoom in and zoom out
  • Result oriented and able to work independently, coping well with fluctuating work pressure and flexible to support colleagues
  • Comfortable to have difficult discussions and hold your ground when needed
  • Strong in building partnerships and work in (different) networks
  • Fluency in Dutch and English
