The scammers approach other LinkedIn users stating that they have been selected to receive a prize. The scammer then tries to get the victim to transfer money to get access to the amount to which they are supposedly entitled. After initial contact through LinkedIn, the fraudster may use email to further communicate with the victim.
Triodos Bank will never approach LinkedIn users with messages promising an amount of money. Do not respond to these messages, report them to the bank (via firstname.lastname@example.org) and then delete them. The bank always does its utmost to have the fake profiles and fake email addresses removed.
