As a Fund Manager you lead the strategic positioning and development of this high profile fund across Europe together with the investment team. In this broad and unique role you are able to blend the fund manager activities, whilst also being an active member of the Investment Team, responsible for leading your own deals and taking board seats.
The position covers a wide range of tasks and responsibilities, such as:
o Being the face of the fund to the investor community, presenting, reporting and communicating about the fund with a range of Family Offices, Pension funds and other professional investors
o Being an ambassador of our vision on Sustainable Food & Agriculture, both within the Triodos organization and in the external community.
o Portfolio construction and maintaining a well-diversified portfolio in line with the impact-risk-return profile of the fund, in cooperation with the portfolio analysts.
o Play a key role in the strategy development of the fund, in collaboration with the Food & Agri investment team,Triodos IM management board, TFTEF’s Supervisory Board and other stakeholders.
o Supporting reviews of the fund, considering how to improve the structure and potentially support the launch of new models / fund structures
o Managing and balancing the liquidity of the portfolio and its investments
o Monitoring the investments prepared by the investment teams through reviews and valuations, challenging them and securing support for the decisions
o Building networks, driving pipeline, reviewing opportunities and executing new deals, with the support of the Investment team
o Coordinating with staff departments providing services to the fund, including finance, control, portfolio administration, marketing & communication, legal, tax, risk and compliance

o A result-oriented, self-starting entrepreneurial work attitude, used to work in multidisciplinary teams across companies and countries
o Strong commercial and entrepreneurial skills; building relationships and a deal-oriented attitude, excellent communication and networking skills
o Inquisitive by nature with an eye for new developments in the sector and the ability to convert this into opportunities for the fund
o A solution focussed attitude, pragmatic and with good business acumen
o Ideally, the candidate combines both fund/portfolio management and investment management capabilities. We also invite seasoned fund/portfolio managers, who wish to work parttime exclusively on fund management tasks.
Furthermore the position requires:
o Experience in portfolio/fund management
o Minimum of 8 years in VC/PE or M&A with experience of buy and sell-side
o Experience working with young / growing businesses and supporting / challenging them as they grow
o Experience in fulfilling the role of non-executive director on the board of such investee companies
o Experience with Impact Investing / ESG investing would be a plus
o Demonstrated affinity with and network in organic and sustainable consumer businesses and with transition towards sustainable food and agriculture systems;
o Academic degree (preferably in Business Economics, Finance, supplemented with CFA)
o Capability to liaise successfully with multiple stakeholders
o Experience with maintaining and developing investors relations and attracting new investors
o Fluency in English both orally and in writing – Proficiency in French / Spanish and or German is a plus
o Applicants must be nationals of a European member state or have a valid work permit for the European Union.
o Willingness to travel within Europe on average once a month
