In 1982 opent Stichting Amsterdamse Filmhuis Rialto in een bioscooppand in Amsterdam. Na verbouwingen is Rialto een modern theater met 3 zalen en filmcafé. Het richt zich op Europese en niet-westerse films, organiseert speciale programma's en is hoofdlocatie voor festivals.
