DB2 Database Engineer

Currently, were are seeking for a DB2 database engineer.

Due to the complexity and critical nature of our database operations, we would like to bring on board a highly skilled DB2 database engineer. This role will be pivotal in optimizing our database infrastructure, enhancing data security, and ensuring seamless integration with our existing systems. We are looking for someone with a proven track record in DB2 database management, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with our IT team.

Profile

How you will make a difference

You will help us to ''change finance to finance change'' and

  • you will provide and support in a highly virtualized infrastructure (VMware VSAN)
  • you will provide support for development teams and discuss impact of development on database; pro actively discuss with developers about what they want to deliver
  • you will oversee our database backup strategy and recovery procedures
  • you will perform, monitor and tune, query's and access plan analysis, and take action to improve overall performance
  • you will maintain high available Db2 environments using HADR / TSAMP deployed on RedHat Linux
  • you will be responsible for collaborating in projects, but your principal focus is on the administration process
  • you will be responsible for implementing changes, either independently or collaboratively·

What you will bring

  • affinity with the objectives of Triodos Bank.
  • an education in IT, minimally at the higher vocational/applied sciences (Dutch: HBO) level.
  • at least 3 years of experience in a similar position, preferably at a company of comparable size and complexity.
  • knowledge of; RedHat Linux, shell scripting, DB2 installation, FixPack updates and version migrations. Experience with features such as; table partitioning, multidimensional clustering, constraints, admin views, event monitors and monitor table functions.
  • expertise in database objects including tables, indexes, views, triggers, stored procedures, functions, and other user-defined objects.
  • the ability to maintain a clear overview and to arrive at solutions efficiently, using the knowledge of colleagues and external parties.
