ACLEDA Bank Lao
ACLEDA Bank Lao started its activities in July 2008. The bank is led by experienced bankers from ACLEDA Bank in Cambodia, which, together with Triodos Fair Share Fund, Triodos Sustainable Finance Foundation, FMO and IFC, is one of the founding shareholders.
ACLEDA Bank Lao offers a range of financial services and products to small and medium-sized enterprises in Laos. The Laos economy is booming and there is large demand for microfinance. ACLEDA Bank Lao is using this to its advantage and plans to further expand its national network of branches over the next few years.
A senior officer from Triodos Bank represented the Triodos funds on the Board of Directors from 2008-2013. As agreed, Triodos Fair Share Fund and Triodos Sustainable Finance Foundation sold their equity stake to ACLEDA Bank Cambodia in 2013.
Triodos Microfinance Fund and Triodos Fair Share Fund remain involved in ACLEDA Bank Lao through the provision of a loan.
