Wind farm Haringvliet
Sustainable energy (Environment)
Wind farm Haringvliet operates six BONUS 600 MK IV 600 kW wind turbines, which in 2013 provided green energy to 2,100 households. It is located at the northern end of the Haringvliet dam (part of the Delta Works), near Hellevoetsluis, The Netherlands, and started its operations in the summer of 1997. Wind farm Haringvliet is a joint-venture between Triodos Renewables Europe Fund, engineering company Lagerwey and project developer E-Connection.
Energy is a necessity in modern life but the current dependence on fossil fuels to provide it has a high environmental and social impact. We believe that a fundamental transition is needed away from a carbon based economy to a renewable one. By lending and investing in this sector we try to stimulate this transition, with our main focus on financing solar, wind and hydro energy.
