Wind Farm Willem Annapolder
Sustainable energy (Environment)
Wind farm Willem Annapolder started production in 2003 and currently operates ten NEG-Micon NM 52/900 wind turbines. The wind turbines, which in 2013 delivered green electricity to 4,700 households, are located in the Willem Annapolder, near the town of Kapelle, on the north shore of the Westerschelde river. Wind farm Willem Annapolder is a joint venture between Nuon, Zeeuwind, a private investor and Triodos Renewables Europe Fund.
Energy is a necessity in modern life but the current dependence on fossil fuels to provide it has a high environmental and social impact. We believe that a fundamental transition is needed away from a carbon based economy to a renewable one. By lending and investing in this sector we try to stimulate this transition, with our main focus on financing solar, wind and hydro energy.
