Sustainable energy (Environment)
Yellow Step Solar develops solar energy projects and has installed solar power systems on the roofs of buildings such as the Stopera Music Theatre in Amsterdam, the Apenheul Primate Park in Apeldoorn, and housing corporations in Amsterdam and Utrecht. The total generation capacity installed is 825 kilowatts, all of which is delivered directly to the occupants and users of the buildings. The solar power installations generate approximately 750,000 kWh per year, which is enough power for about 214 households and saves 430 tonnes in CO2. Yellow Step Solar is an attractive addition to the existing solar power projects in the portfolio of Triodos Groenfonds.
Energy is a necessity in modern life but the current dependence on fossil fuels to provide it has a high environmental and social impact. We believe that a fundamental transition is needed away from a carbon based economy to a renewable one. By lending and investing in this sector we try to stimulate this transition, with our main focus on financing solar, wind and hydro energy.
