The microfinance sector in Angola is still underdeveloped while there is a great demand in the country’s expanding economy for financial services at the lower end of the market. Microfinance institution KixiCredito aims at giving an increasing number of people access to basic financial services. The loan provided by Triodos-Doen will enable KixiCredito to realise this ambition and expand its role as a market leader in the microfinance market in Angola. The institution is also looking into the possibilities for developing and implementing a solar lending product. This product is envisaged to be piloted in Angola's capital city Luanda.
