MicroInvest has been issuing loans to small businesses and cooperatives since 2003. Youth unemployment is very high in Moldavia, which is why MicroInvest also focuses on this target group. The microfinance sector is not very highly developed and only a few institutions are active, but demand is strong. The loan it has received from Triodos-Doen will enable the institution to further expand its customer base.
