Nicaragua - Findesa
Financiera Nicaragüense de Desarrollo S.A. (Findesa) targets micro-entrepreneurs who have limited access to the financial services. In 2005, the organisation saw considerable growth – its’ portfolio and number of loan customers increased by more than 60%, while savings more than doubled. With 350 employees in 18 branch offices, Findesa is active in both rural and urban areas. Findesa participated in the ‘Transparency and Sustainability in Finance’ project, co-supervised by Triodos Bank and was the first microfinance institution in the world to present a full GRI report in 2005.
