Montenegro - Alter Modus
In 2005, Triodos-Doen provided for the first time, a loan to Alter Modus, a non-governmental organisation that has been active in the microcredit sector in Montenegro since 1997. Thanks to its’ well-qualified staff and a sound credit methodology, Alter Modus has seen strong growth in the past few years and has extended its’ activities to urban areas. Alter Modus is an innovator regarding the developing of credit products and anticipates existing needs well. It has, for example, set up a number of special credit lines for the tourist industry - an industry in which a high number of small entrepreneurs are active.
