AccèsBanque Madagascar (ABM) is the first microfinance bank in Madagascar. The bank was founded in 2006 with the goal to become the leading provider of financial services to micro and small enterprises in Madagascar. Its product range comprises of loans to micro and small enterprises, deposits and other financial services including foreign exchange services and (inter)national money transfers. The bank starts operations in the capital Antananarivo before branching out to other locations in the country.
With this equity investment Triodos-Doen wants to contribute to the provision of professional microfinance services in Madagascar, where access to finance is sporadic for low-income groups. A senior Triodos Bank co-worker represents Triodos-Doen on the Board of Directors.
