In 2005, Socremo underwent an important institutional development. A diversification of the ownership structure (with among others Hivos-Triodos Fund’ partner AfriCap) and the acquired bank license were crucial to enable it to develop and become an important provider of differentiated financial services to the lower income groups in Mozambique.
