Cambodia - Amret Ltd.
Amret is a regulated microfinance in Cambodia and primarily focuses on providing credit services in the remote rural areas of Cambodia. This is done through the so-called village banking method, in which groups of borrowers take up the responsibility for repaying the received credits. In the past two years, Amret extended its range of products to include saving products and individual loans to small-scale entrepreneurs in a number of provincial cities. In 2005, Amret also experienced a strong growth and is now the largest (non-banking) microfinance institution in the country.
