Kyrgyzstan - Bai Tushum, Micro Credit Agency
Kyrgyzstan is one of the poorer republics of the former Soviet Union and is characterised by a vast mountain scenery with a large rural population. Located in the capital Bishkek, the microcredit institution Bai Tushum has built up a considerable customer base and has extended its portfolio to the countryside. At the end of 2005, the portfolio amounted to almost USD 7 million.
