Serendipol in Sri Lanka is new in the Triodos Sustainable Trade Fund portfolio. It is one of the few certified organic suppliers of coconut oil in the world and the only one with a fair trade certification. The oil finds its way to Dr Bronner’s Magic Soaps in California, USA.
Bio Farmers Union: certified organic and fair trade cotton from Kyrgyzstan
Helvetas and SECO from Switzerland and the Dutch development organisations Hivos and ICCO are the promoters of organic farming in the Ferghana valley in Kyrgyzstan. Organic cotton is traded on international markets through Bio Farmers Public Union, enabling farmers to make a living.
