Quality assurance

In order to provide high quality research and provide reliable and independent information, Triodos Bank has a Quality Management System that comprises four key components: quality standards and guidelines, use of diverse information sources, direct contacts with companies, and a stakeholder panel, comprising international independent experts.

Quality standards and guidelines
To ensure consistency and transparency of our research, quality standards and guidelines are implemented for conducting research, filing information and reporting results.

Diverse information sources
We make use of the extensive information from the Sustainalytics database, ECGS company profiles, company reports, media reports and information from non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

Direct contact
We have direct contact with companies, non-governmental organisations, and industry experts in order to complement our research and to investigate potential inconsistencies of the information found.

Stakeholder panel
Our stakeholder panel comprises international independent experts representing employers, consumers, environmental organisations, trade unions, human rights groups, development and aid organisations, and universities. The panel provides critical feedback on our methodology used for conducting sustainability ratings and sector studies, and helps us to ensure high quality research.
