Ampere Equity Fund

Ampere Equity Fund BV invests equity directly in large-scale renewable energy projects. The Fund only invests in projects that use proven technology, with a focus on the following technologies:

  • on-shore wind
  • off-shore wind
  • biomass power
  • solar power

The minimum investment amount for Ampere Equity Fund is EUR 10 million of equity per project. The Fund can invest in substantial minority stakes (20 – 49%), where the seller / developer remains involved as operating manager and co-shareholder, or alternatively the Fund can acquire 100% ownership of the project.

Ampere Equity Fund invests in projects under development (provided that at least all required permits and consents are in place), in projects under construction and in fully operational projects.

Geographically, the Fund is restricted to investments in Western Europe, concentrating on Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, UK and the Netherlands. Central European countries such as Poland are not within its scope.

APG, PGGM, Delta Lloyd and Rabobank are the investors in the Fund and Triodos Investment Management BV is the independent fund manager. Triodos Investment Management is a full subsidiary of Triodos Bank and, as renewable energy is one of the organisation’s core sectors, Ampere Equity Fund has been assigned a dedicated, specialist investment team with specific expertise in solar PV and wind energy. Our expertise and experience in conducting transactions make us a reliable partner for developers and we are able to provide the highest level of deal certainty in short time-frames. We have built valuable relationships with experienced project finance banks (including the Triodos Bank project finance teams) in the regions in which we operate, which enables us to provide total financing solutions, including equity, semi-equity and bank debt to project developers.
