Climate neutral activities

An example
One of the CO2-account holders at Triodos Climate Clearing House is Face (Forests Absorbing Carbon dioxide Emission). This foundation has over 10 years of experience in realizing sustainable forestry projects with the aim of CO2-sequestration, restoration of biodiversity and the creation of local employment. One of its projects is in the Mount Elgon National Park in Uganda, which has been developed in cooperation with the Uganda Wild Life Authority and the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources). Over 8,000 hectares have already been restored. The project employs between 400 and 600 local people. Other projects of Face are located in Ecuador, Malaysia, the Czech Republic and The Netherlands. The CO2-credits of the Face Foundation are being marketed and sold through Climate Neutral Group, another CO2-account holder at Triodos Climate Clearing House. Climate Neutral Group sells CO2-credits to companies and (governmental) organisations, in combination with a package of support services to reduce the client’s CO2 footprint and to develop climate neutral concepts and products. The support services are in the field of CO2-accounting, energy efficiency, renewable energy and especially also in the field of climate related communication and marketing.
